How to Reach

By Air:

Nagpur Airport (90 Km) is the nearest one to reach the national park. Another option is Jabalpur Airport, which is 200 km far away from the park.
 

By Rail:

The closest railway station is Nagpur (90 km), well connected to all the cities of India.
 

By Road:

Nagpur is 88 km far from Pench through Seoni (NH No. 7).

FAUNA

Tiger, Leopard, Jungle Cats, Sloth Beer, Wild dog, Jackle, Wolf, Hyena, Fox, Wild Boar, Langoor, Monkey, Indian Gaur (Bison), Sambhar, Barking deer, Spotted deer, Porcupine etc. Also there are many species of reptiles found at Pench National Park – Snakes, Monitor Lizard etc. More than 300 species of residential and migratory birds can be seen at Pench national park.

Flora

The Park is consecrated with rich and verdant forests, spread throughout the area of the National Park. Southern dry broadleaf teak forests blend with the tropical mixed deciduous forests. The flora in Pench includes different kinds of climbers, shrubs, and trees. It has few uncommon varieties of herbs with medicinal properties which are mentioned below:

Teak (Tectona Grandis), Saja (Terminalia Tomentosa), Bija (Pterocarpus Marsupium), Lendia (Lagerstroemia Parviflora), Haldu (Adina Cardifolia), Dhaora (Anogeissus Latifolia), Salai (Boswellia Serrata),Aonla (Emblica Officinalis),Amaltas (Cassia Fistula)

 

Weather

Summer

 Summers of Pench national park are extremely hot and exhausting. The temperature varies from 25C to 50C in the months of April to June. However, if you wish to get the best tiger sightings then this is the right time to visit Pench.
 

Monsoon

 Early July experiences heavy rainfall which continues for the next two months. Pench national park receives average rainfall of 1300 mm in the months of July and August. During that period the national park is shut down. The Monsoon bring newness and rejuvenating greenery to the place.
 

Winter

 Winters arrives in November and lasts till February. The climate is pleasantly cool and comfortable. The temperature varies from 6C to 31C in winter. This is apt season for wildlife sightings in Pench national park.
