Weather

Summer

The best time to visit Bandhavgarh National Park depends on your objective really. If you wish to see diverse species of birds then one must visit the park between October and January. On the other hand the early summer months are probably the best for wildlife photographers, especially if you are a tiger photographer. In the hot months you will find wild animals all close to the water source. However, peak summer is not considered suitable for visitors.

Monsoon

Bandhavgarh Park is not open to tourists during the monsoon. However, during this period the entire park becomes lush green. Because of severe cases of waterlogging that may occur during this period navigation within the park often becomes impossible.

Winter

The Park remains open for visitors between 15 October and 30 June. The winter is the peak season for Bandhavgarh National Park. Most tourists visit the park between the months of November and March. From November the park becomes excellent for viewing, with the monsoon having rejuvenated the park and all its inhabitants. However, sighting is easier between March and May since vegetation dries up, thereby making it easier to spot wildlife, especially the majestic tiger. Winters tend to be very cold with temperatures dropping to freezing point by night. So, please be prepared with lots of woollens.
